Studies on determining the dynamics of public transport based on interdependent passengers - reconfiguration of stations
Last modified: 2018-07-15
Abstract
Public transportation offers people mobility and access to different types of resources. It benefits the people that want to ride, as well as those who have no choice in that matter. Public transport provides a basic service to these persons and to all others without access to other type of transportation. Public transportation also helps to reduce road congestion as well as travel times, in the meantime helping municipalities to reduce air pollution, energy and fuel consumption, all of which benefit both riders and non-riders alike. Public transport in general contributes to cleaner air and better quality of life in cities and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
