Abstract

The BSW (Blind Spot Warning) system is considered to be an equipment used by the drivers in order to safely travel on the highways around the world. The BSW system scans the blind spot on the vehicle that is not seen in the side view mirrors, thus making the driver’s job easier when changing lanes of traffic. The driver is noticed by a LED placed in the side view mirror’s glass that lits up whenever there is a a car/motorbike in the vehicle’s blind spot closest to the C/D pillar. If the driver signals the intention of changing the lanes whilst the LED is lit (meaning that there is another vehicle in the „C” pillar blind spot), the LED will blink, and for some vehicles, an audible feedback will be triggered in order for the driver to become conscious about another vehicle being on the adjacent lane.
