In order to reduce pollutant emissions from internal combustion engines, international regulations allow the use of biofuel blends as fuel for internal combustion engines. Another method of reducing pollutant emissions is the use of natural gas (compressed or liquefied) or propane (liquefied petroleum gas). The performance of internal combustion engines is affected by the use of those fuels instead of fossil fuels in an unmodified engine. The paper analyses the variation of engine parameters using alternative fuels.
