Amma 2002

The AMMA 2002 - Automobile, Environment and Agricultural Machinery - Congress was the first national conference with international participation organized under the FISTA patronage, by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca during 10th and 11th October. The Congress provide an invaluable opportunity for learning, networking and exploring new ideas in the fields of automobile, environment and agriculture.

Facing the word competition, in the process of globalization and due to the constraints accepted by international regulations, the development in the field of automotive is conditioned by a continuous innovation process. Automobile have became the most popular mean of transportation and a symbol of personal freedom. This success is, however, accompanied by problems regarding roads, environment protection, traffic congestion, road safety and driving comfort. In this sense, automotive engineers (and not only them) have the mission of finding the optimal solutions to solve these problems and to reduce environmental pollution.

The diversity of thematic topics such as automobile and tractors, engines, agricultural machinery and environmental strategies create a strong distinctive role for the automotive industry and academy. Participants had the opportunity to highlight the innovations and expertise to a specific target audience. Thus, Günter Hohl, Vice President of FISTA Europe, Eugen Mihai Negrus, president of SIAR and Ioan Rus, Minister of Interior, opened theCongress by presenting oftheir keynotes. During the Congress, almost 200 papers were presented and published in the Conference Volume.
